Duaa after Tashahud (Durood)

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika min l’athaabil-qabri, wa min ‘athaabi jahannama, wa min fitnatil-mahyaa walmamaati, wa min sharri fitnatil-maseehid-dajjaal.

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hell-fire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah.

Upon Going To Sleep

When anyone of you goes to bed, he should shake out his covers, for he does not know what has come onto it after him. Then he should say:

Bismika rabbi wada’tu janbi wabika arfa uhu, ‘in amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa’in arsaltaha fahfath ha bima tahfathu bihi ibadaka salihin.

In Your Name I lay on my side on this bed and with Your Name I will rise therefrom. If You take my soul, bestow mercy on it, and if You release it, protect it as You protect Your righteous slaves.

O Allah, make what is lawful enough for me

Allahummak-finee bihalalika AAan haramik, wa-aghninee bifadlika AAamman siwak.

O Allah, make what is lawful enough for me, as opposed to what is unlawful, and spare me by Your grace, of need of others.

O’Allah You are as You have praised Yourself

Allhumma ini audu be redaka min sakhatik, wa bemu’aafaatika min ‘uqbatik, wa a’udhubi ridhaaka min sakhatik, wa a’udhubika minka la uhsi thanaa an ‘alayka anta kama athnayta ‘ala nafsik.

O Allah! Through the agency of Your forgiveness, I seek protection from Your punishment, I seek protection from Your anger by means of Your pleasure, I seek protection in You from You, I cannot truly praise You as you should be praised. You are as You have praised Yourself.

Fear

When a person fears something they run away from it, when he fears Allah SWT he runs towards Him. Subhan Allah.

Ignorance and Knowledge

The most ignorant is that who commits sins because of the his knowledge with the mercy of Allah

The most knowledgable is that who obeys Allah because of the his knowledge with the mercy of Allah

<Amr Khalid>

The best supplication is on the Day of Arafat

The prophet peace be upon him said:

«The best supplication is on the Day of Arafat and the best supplication said by me and the prophets before me: There is no God but Allah alone, He has no partner. To Allah is the dominion, and to Him is the praise and He is Capable of all things»

O Lord, I ask You to make me fear You in secret and in the open

Allahumma bi-Ilmikal ghaiba wa qudratika ‘alal-khalqi ‘ahyini ma ‘alimtal-hayaata khairan li, wa tawaffan idza’alimtal-wafata khairan li. Allahumma as’aluka khashyataka Fī al-ghaybi wa ash-shahādati, wa as’aluka Kalimata Al-haqqi fī ar-riđā, wa al-ghađabi wa as’aluka Al-Qaşda Fī al-Faqri wa al-ghiná, Wa as’aluka na`īmāan Lā Yanfadu Wa ‘As’aluka Qurrata `Aynin Lā Tanqaţi`u, wa as’aluka Ar-Riđā’a Ba`da Al-Qađā’i, wa as’aluka Barda al-ayshi Ba`da Al-Mawti, Wa as’aluka ladhdhata An-Nažari ‘Ilá Wajhika wa ash-shawqa Ilá Liqā’ika Fī ghayri Đarrā’a Muđirratin Wa Lā fitnatin muđillah

Our Lord, by Your Knowledge of the Unseen, and by Your Power over Your creation, grant me life so long as You know life to hold good for me, and grant me death when You know death to hold good for me. O Lord, I ask You to make me fear You in secret and in the open, I ask You to make me speak sincerely (the truth) at times of contentment and at times of anger, I ask You to make me be moderate (frugality) in poverty and in wealth, I ask You for a blessing that does not end, contentment that never ceases, and for acceptance of Your decree. I ask You for a good life after death, and I ask You for the joy of looking upon Your face and the longing to meet You, with no harmful adversity or misleading trial (fitnah).

O Ever-Living, O Eternal

Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyoom bi Rahmatika astagheeth

O Ever-Living, O Eternal, by Your Mercy I seek help.

[Sahih al-Hakim 1/545, Sahih al-Jami 4791, at-Tirmidhi – Sahih]
Anas (ra) reported that when the Prophet (saws) was distressed by something, he would say (the above)
