rejoice & seek forgiveness

Allahumaj ‘alna minal ladhina idha ahsanus tabasharti, wa idha asa’us-taghfaru

O Allah!  make me among those who, when they commit an act of virtue, rejoice; and when they commit a mistake, seek forgiveness

[narrated by A’isha (radiAllahu anhu) – ibn Majah; #3810]

All of my sins

Allahumma inni asaluka ya Allahu bi annakal  Wahidul Ahadus-Samadul ladhi, lam ya-lid wa lam youlad, wa lam  yakullahu kufuwan Ahad, an taghfirali dhunoobi innaka Antal Ghafūūrur  Raheem

O Allah!  I ask You, O Allah, You  are the One, the Only, Self Sufficient Master, who was not begotten and begets  not and non is equal to Him.  Forgive me my sins, surely you are Forgiving,  Merciful.
[Abu Dawud, an Nasa’i, ibn Majah, at Tirmidhi]

O Allah! Guide us among those You guide

Allahumma min jamee’i dhunubi wal khataaya, wa natubu ilaik

O Allah! Guide us among those You guide. Grant us health and pardon among those You grant health and pardon, look after us among those You look after, grant us grace in what You have given us, and protect us from the evil of what you have ordained; for You decree and none decrees against You, and none is abased whom You befriend. And none is exalted whom You are at enmity with. O our Lord, who is above all things sacred and exalted, all praise is Yours for what you decree. I ask Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance
[Also known as the Qunut al-Nazila; if a major disaster or difficulty befalls on the ummah, this du’a is recommeded to be recited. [recorded in ahadith — it is the Qunut du’a]]

O Allah! I ask Thee for everlasting iman

Allahumma inni asaluka imaanan daāiman, wa asaluka qalban khashi’an, wa asaluka yaqįnan saadiqan, wa asaluka deenan qayyiman.

(O Allah! I ask Thee for everlasting iman; and I ask Thee [for] a heart which should fear Thee; and I ask Thee [for] a true confidence in Thee; and I ask Thee [for] a firm deen.)

I seek refuge for you in the perfect words of Allah

Sahih al-Bukhari
For the Protection of Children

U’idhukuma bikalimatil lahit-tammah, min kulli shaytanin wahammah, wa min kulli ‘ayinin lammah

(I seek refuge for you in the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every bad eye)

Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) would seek protection for his grandsons; Hassan and Hussain (radiAllahu anhum) by the above du’a

O Allah! make me among those who, when they commit an act of virtue, rejoice

Allahumaj’alna minal ladhina idha ahsanu estabasharu, wa idha asa’u es-taghfaru

O Allah! make me among those who, when they commit an act of virtue, rejoice; and when they commit a mistake, seek forgiveness
[narrated by A’isha (radiAllahu anhu) – ibn Majah; #3810]

I am the foremost of the Muslims

Surely my Salat and my sacrifice and my living and my dying are for the sake of Allah- Rabb of all the worlds. No partners has He; and thus I am commanded, and I am the foremost of the Muslims
[surah Al- An’am; 6: 163-164]

O my Lord! Open for me my chest

Rabb-ishrah li sadri, wa yassir li ‘amri, Wah-lul ‘uqdatam-min-li-saani, Yaf-qahuu qawlii

O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness); Ease my task for me; And remove the impediment from my speech, so they may understand what I say
[Surah Ta-Ha; 20:25-28]
A du’a that Musa (alayhis salam) made when proceeding to the court of Fir’awn (Pharoah) for the arguments (inviting him to Islam)

O my Lord! I am indeed needy of whatever good You may send to me

Rabbi ‘inni limaa ‘anzalta ‘ilayya min khairin-faqeer

O my Lord! I am indeed needy of whatever good You may send to me
[Surah Qassas; 28:24]

The above du’a was made whilst sayyidina Musa (alayhis salam) was traveling to the desert of Madyan, with no place of shelter. He made this du’a while resting under the shade of a tree.

O Allah! I ask You for knowledge that is of benefit

Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘Ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan

O Allah! I ask You for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision and deeds that will be accepted.
[Ibn Majah and others]
